Esperanza Aguirre started it all off last Monday when stating on the previous nights riots in Pozuelo "Something is not right". Niñetos or spoilt brats who after sitting around all summer because their parents have lost their jobs decide to riot. Beans instead of steaks.Botellon instead of cocktails downtown. Pozuelo swimming pool instead of Marbella beach. Its tough at the top.
The best was yet to come after Sundays riots in Lekeito (Pais Vasco) the local council spokesperson (PNV) came out with the gem off blaming the disturbances on "global warming" (which really means economic meltdown). This bloke should be running for president.
This puts a whole new angle on the famous Spanish no job thesis.No job+no dole+well dressed and out every night=Wheres the money come from.
Three cheers for Mr. Zap and his new "economia sostenible". Hip hip.........
